How high is a stack of 6000 ASL boards?

I can’t exactly answer that question in inches, but I can share what it looks like. I visited the printers on Friday and signed off on the last details, and was able to peek into the production area and see HG2 in process. It is very impressive to see our hard work in its final state.

(click to enlarge) That is a palette full of all four maps for High Ground 2 being processed for packaging.

(click to enlarge) The scenarios cards have been printed as well, and I think it is very interesting to see them in the form that they are produced. There are basically half of the scenario cards shown in the picture, and they get printed together on large rolls and then trimmed down to normal size.

Everything is on track to get production wrapped up soon. I expect to have them in my hands by the end of the month, and in your hands soon after that, especially if I see you at ASLOK!

Thanks,

Sam Tyson

HG2 update! Scenarios are all final, just need to edit and tweak them for a couple of days, then it’s off to the printers.

I’ve been a part of BFP for more than a year now and it’s high time I started to add my thoughts and experiences as a member of the team to our blog.

I’ll be posting information on playtests, my thoughts and ideas, and will be glad to answer any questions you might have.

My current duties with BFP are: Author, Designer(6 scenarios in the workflow with Chas and the crew), Playtester, Editor, Proof Reader.  Folks wonder why we do it? It’s not for the money, am never going to get rich doing this, it’s the personal satisfaction of knowing that I’ve contributed to a fantastic team effort that I hope brings you a ton of ASL enjoyment as you play through the products we publish.

I’m also in the role of NON ASL game submission guy, we’re primarily ASL and ASL will always be first, but if you’ve got a game you believe is outstanding and you’re looking for a publisher, give me a note.

As of this morning, everything for Blood & Jungle has been sent to the printers. It took months of hard work by all of us, but the end result will surely be worth waiting for.

For the main printer, I transferred 2.25 GB of compressed digital goodness, and 11 MB to the counter printers.

With the hard part of this project behind us, we are looking ahead to next year and planning our next two releases. Not enough decisions finalized at this point to announce anything, but we will be in full production again in January.

Bounding Fire Productions is proud to announce that BFP3: Blood and Jungle is now available for pre-orders.  Head to our website, www.boundingfire.com

BFP3: Blood and Jungle is our first Battlepack based in the Pacific Theater of Operations. The unprecedented size of this product makes it unique in our industry, and follows in our tradition of high quality, exciting scenarios.

General content includes:

47 scenarios. They range from early 1930s Japanese vs. Chinese Action to 1947 KNIL (Dutch) vs. Indonesians. The scenarios range from tourny to monster, all infantry to combined arms, etc. A good chunk of the action does not necessarily have PTO Terrain in effect. Basically there is something in here for everyone scenario wise.

A large magazine with a variety of articles all with a PTO theme.

4 countersheets. Japanese Partially Armed Paratroopers, 5/8″ counters for a variety of nationalities either rare/not in the system/captured: Thai, Indonesian, Japanese, Chinese, KNIL, US, Aussie…. and maybe some surprises.

Essentially 3 mapboards. One is our ‘double wide’ concept. The boards fit together for a large urban battlefield, and are geomorphic on all of the other sides.

…..and more.

We will be providing some pics, more information, etc.

Without a doubt this is a monster product, which I like to call ‘the OtO of the PTO’. YMMV on this but I am fully confident if you like PTO you will love this product. If you are new and not necessarily interested in PTO, you will still really like this product.

This website is, and always will be (most likely) a work-in-progress.

I keep learning more and more about CSS and how it applies to nice, flexible web designs. My web sites in the past have always been a playground for expanding my knowledge – someday maybe I can even make money at it. Meanwhile, it is rewarding enough just to get it to look and function the way I want it to.

I am always welcome to ideas for change – either in site appearance or function. If you can offer graphics, content, links, etc., I am ready to incorporate almost anything.

Tanks!
